He kissed her the way that the moon would kiss the stars; his head in the clouds, dreaming that soft dream of nonconformance. They were made for each other, and everybody knew it. Nobody ever questioned it, because their love was a perfection.
But when he dreamed, he would leave his stargazing compatibility behind for the waning memories of a forbidden touch. He let go of all of the stars that he had somehow found, let them go for a single sun. His romance with her was the moon and the sun. Their existence was like two different worlds, but when they crossed, their meeting was disease-ridden with secrecy.
It's easy to catch the moon and the stars together, but only the wise can see the sparks fly during a rare eclipse.
A/N: This is my first fanfiction, and some feedback would be nice. Thanks. None of this belongs to me; it belongs to Eoin Colfer.
