Dimitri shrugged out of his well worn duster, before hanging it on the back of his chair, already heading towards the kitchen to make some coffee and keep awake. Even though the court was well protected, guarding Christian was a full time job, and even he was beginning to feel the effects of being alert at all times. While he was one of the best, he was still human.

After gulping down some strong coffee fresh from the pot, he walked over to the stack of dishes from the previous night, ready to clean them before taking a quick nap and setting out once again. Before he could reach them, he heard a small creak come from the bedroom to his right, and he instantly drew out his weapon, ready to kill any intruder who had the misfortune of breaking into his home.

He crept over to the ajar door, giving no time for the uninvited guest to flee, and suddenly kicked the door forward, hard and fast. His eyes swept the room as he took in the scene before him.

His bed was freshly made, just as he had left it, with the only difference being that there was now a petite, brown haired girl lying lazily on it, seemingly waiting for his arrival.

Rose looked up as the door banged back and rolled her eyes. "Come on, Dimitri. Try not to destroy your own house at least."

He smiled, delighted but surprised at her appearance. "What are you doing here, Roza?"

She patted the bed next to her, signalling for him to join her. "I thought I'd give you a surprise, but I wasn't expecting to be bludgeoned to death." she added with a raised eyebrow at his hand clutching a vase, complete with the flowers.

He put it on his bedside table and moved towards her. "Sorry. I've been a bit on edge recently."

"I can see that, Comrade. Too much coffee?"

He scoffed teasingly and pulled her hair. "No such thing. How'd you know I'd be here at this time?" He of all people knew how erratic his schedule was, making it difficult for anyone to pay him a visit without any extensive pre-planning.

"Oh, you know. Using my awesome guardian skills and brilliant analytical brain, I was able to narrow it down. I'm not just a pretty face, you know." she replied, flipping her hair in the process, emphasising that indeed, her face was very pretty.

"That you are, Roza." He leaned down and kissed her cheek, loving the way he could feel her smile as he did so. That was his favourite thing about her, her smile that seemed to be reserved only for him. That, coupled with her fiery personality and beautiful face made her as irresistible to him as she had been all those years ago.

"Confession. I may have got some help from Christian."

Dimitri laughed out loud. "I knew this couldn't all be your work."

"Hey!" she protested. "Where there's a will, there's a Hatha-way. Get it?"

Dimitri shook his head and lay down next to her. "Good thing you're pretty. Comedy isn't quite your specialty."

Before he could blink, she had rolled on top of him, pinning him down to the bed with her weight. He breathed out, taken by surprise by Rose twice in one day. "So, what would you say is my specialty?" she asked, face inches away from his, humour in her eyes.

Just as fast as she had, Dimitri manoeuvred his way out of the grip she had him in, and pinned her down. "You tell me." he said, faces even closer than before, breaths mingling. She craned her neck upwards and their lips brushed. He leant down to deepen the kiss, holding her face lovingly in his hands, pouring all of his feelings towards her into that one kiss.

She replied, "Why don't I show you?", before leaning up once again, kissing him in such a way that led to Dimitri almost being late for his next shift, for the first time in a year.
