"Mom! Dad! I'm going to be late!" Emily Anne Sheppard shouted up the stairs.
"You can drive you know." Derek came down the stairs.
"You're blocking me in you know." She replied sarcastically. "Crap." She raced up the stairs passed Meredith,
"I thought you were going to be late?" Meredith questioned.
"I forgot my purse." Emily lifted a multi-colored Coach purse.
This was not a typical day in the Sheppard household. Today was the first day for both of Meredith and Derek's daughters. It was Emily's first day of her senior year and it was Kelsey Lynn's first day as and Intern at Seattle Grace. The Sheppard family now had three of four family members working at Seattle Grace, with Emily desperately trying to find her way in.
Emily was one of those spoiled teenagers who have obtained any and everything she has ever wanted. Her two best friends Maddisyn Zoey Sloan and Hannah Isobel Stevens-Karev are the exact same way. The three have literally been inseparable since birth.
Maddisyn is an only child to Mark and Addison Sloan. Hannah is an only child as well but to Izzie Stevens-Karev and Alex Karev. It is because of their parents' jobs that they are such close friends.
"Why are you leaving so early anyways? School doesn't start for an hour and it takes five minutes to get there." Meredith pointed out as they walked to the kitchen.
"And Starbucks will take at least twenty minutes." Emily responded quickly. "And don't even try saying anything about me drinking Starbucks because you do it too." Emily pointed at Derek who had opened his mouth but shut it when Emily spoke. Emily picked up her iphone off of the counter to check the time. "Okay you two I really need to leave."
"Breakfast?" Derek asked. Emily grabbed an Apple and held it up.
"Let's go please. Hannah and Maddisyn are waiting for me."
"Yes ma'am" Meredith fake saluted while Emily rolled her eyes. They headed out the front door.
Emily pulled up to Starbucks in her Silver Honda CRV while Hannah and Maddisyn were sitting in their also silver cars; Hannah in a Kia Sportage and Maddisyn in a Jeep Liberty.
"Finally! Jeez!" Maddisyn grabbed her Coach purse and closed the door.
"Sorry, Sorry, Sorry! My dad attempted the Starbucks lecture again." Emily pushed the lock button on her keys.
"Oh boy," Hannah declared as she opened the door. "I am so glad Mom and Dad don't mind my Starbucks addiction." The girls walked in and ordered their traditional Venti Skinny Cinnamon Dulce lattes, Hannah's with soy, and toffee almond bars. They say at their usual table gossiping about summer drama.
"Oh My Gosh Maddi, did you hear about Jessica and Adam?" Emily made a disgusted face knowing what was about to come out of Hannah's mouth.
"I don't want to here about Evil Spawn." Maddisyn rolled her eyes.
"Oh, you'll want to hear this. I heard they hooked up. One. Night. Stand." Hannah emphasized each word.
"I have an official reason to call her a slut." Maddisyn smiled. She picked up her cell phone and sent a mass text. "Jessica. Adam. One Night Stand. SLUT." Maddisyn was kind to everyone except when it came to her worst enemy, Jessica. She got several replies from people.
"Haha. So should have known," Was the basic reply.
"Girls we need to go. We have ten before class." The girls picked up their drinks and headed to their cars. "Meet in the usual spot." Emily stated.
"Okay." Hannah replied and Maddisyn nodded.
The girls pulled up to the front of the school and got out of their cars. The walked up the front steps arm in arm laughing as the bell rang. "Girls." Hannah Stopped. "Senior Year, we have arrived!"
Maddisyn and Emily laughed. "How long have you been waiting to say that?"
"Since like freshmen year." She laughed in reply. They split up and headed to their classes
