"Draco... Please... Don't..." Hermione pleaded to Draco from where they stood on top of the Astronomy Tower, for the last time they'd be together.
"Hermione don't you understand? I have to do this!" Draco countered back. "I don't have a choice!" This was true. He didn't have a choice in anything these days.

"But Draco... We could go into hiding! We could leave! He would never find us!" Hermione said back, just looking for a sliver of hope.

"Hermione. You're a smart girl." He said as he pushed a bit of her hair behind her ear. "You know I can't do that."

"Draco, but you can't do this. These few months we have secretly been together. To me they've been everything. Everything!"

"Same with me Hermy. Same with me. " Draco started saying not paying much attention, but reminiscing in the past. "All the time we've spent together, all over the castle, together. Just enjoying each other's company. Talking to each other, complaining, laughing, crying, and smiling. In secret, rebelling against the outside world. It was like I was a different person. And I loved that. And I love you..." After a minute of just living and replaying the past, Draco snapped back to reality. "Hermione, my sweet, perfect Hermione. I need to do this. If I don't… if he knows you are the only thing in the world I care about… do you know what he will do to you?"

"Draco, I don't care as long as I'm with you."

"But Hermione! I care! I care if the Dark Lord tortures and kills you. I couldn't bear to see you in pain. How could I live knowing it way my fault you were dead? Hermione, I love you… but I can't let him hurt you. I can't let anyone hurt you. Ever. I have to do this."

"Draco, please, there has to be another way."

"There's not Hermione! I'm sorry. I am so sorry!"

"Draco, please! I love you!" Hermione continued to plead, hoping upon hope that their secret relationship could continue. She was only happy when he was by her side.

"Hermione, you know I can't. No one is going to hurt you. I love you Hermione." Draco replied back. He couldn't help but notice how amazing her brown eyes sparkled like the stars. How her skin shone in the moonlight. How her hair glistened and shone when it moved under the night sky. He loved her, and he always would. But he wouldn't let anyone hurt her.

"I love you Hermione", Draco said aloud for the last time ever, regret, despair, anxiety, hurtfulness, worry and so many other emotions, thick in his voice.
Hermione gave him one last pleading look before he said,

"Obliviate."
