Summary: A little drabble piece based around the episode "Forensic Evidence" broadcast in the UK in May 09. Stuart was left in charge of CID... This is Mickey and Jack's conversation over breakfast that day.

"Do you really have to go?"

"Yes, I told you yesterday. It's only one day Mickey."

"But Stuart? Couldn't you have swapped the shifts and put Max in charge?"

"No, Stuart's a perfectly capable..."

"Pain in the arse," Mickey interrupted.

"He's a perfectly capable officer," Jack finished impatiently. "But keep an eye on him yeah? I know what he's like when he smells power."

"You owe me."

"I'll make it up to you later on."

"Promise?" Mickey's cheeky grin was infectious.

Jack laughed, "only if CID is still in one piece when I get back. Now get going or we'll both be late."
