A/N; It doesn't matter WHO is with them, on their team. This is about Hinata and Naruto. Enjoy.
When time slows
Her heart beat slowed.
Strange.
She was looking straight at Naruto. The one person that made her heart beat frantically with ecstasy and joy,
She was growing cold.
Wired.
She was looking into her Naruto-kuns' clear blue eyes, the same eyes that had many times sent a heat wave of passion through her body.
His eyes were wide.
Filled with an emotion she had felt loads of times.
Fear.
Fear of what?
All the times she seen him at school, energetic, restless.
All the times she saw him when he thought he was alone, sad, and so very lonely.
All the time she watched on the mission they and their friends were on now, happy, content.
She never saw fear.
He was looking straight at her, was she the cause?
How, why would he be scared of her?
Even when they were attacked by those missing nin he wasn't afraid…
WAIT!
The mission! The ninjas!
What happen…?
She was fighting and doing well. So was everyone else. But Naruto had some how end up fighting the strongest one. In her mind there was no doubt in his abilities. She was right; He began to over power his opponent. She began to over power her on.
Them a scream… a heart wrenching scream… a scream of a dying man.
No.
It was of a woman.
She had looked around and had caught his eyes.
Fear, so much fear.
Pain? Was there pain there to? No, the pain was her own.
Why? Did her enemy hurt her? He didn't hit her with an attack once!
What was going on! A warm liquid was rising in her throat.
Her mind was hazy.
Where was the pain from?…. Her stomach!
She looked down… the end of a large long kunai stuck out of her stomach. It gleamed in the setting sun from her fresh warm blood. Bits of bone, and muscles stuck to the blood.
Blood.
Muscles.
Bone.
Her spine, someone had attacked her from behind, and they stabbed her in the back.
She was an idiot! Why didn't she have her Byakugan on! Hold on, she did have it on! But how did she not see the person come right behind her! Alas, she would never know.
She was dying.
No one could help her; a good part of her spine was probably in her stomach now.
That's why he has that look in his eyes.
He can do nothing to help her. That is what he fears most; helplessness.
Her vision was blurry.
His outline was diminishing. This all, she realized, was only taking seconds.
And it was only a second she needed.
This morning she had told herself she would tell him how she felt.
She was not about to let death be her excuse!
Pulling all her strength together and pushing it to her mouth, she saw his face clear as day for the brief moment she spoke.
No sound came out, but mouthed the words, praying he could read her lips.
'I love you. Good Bye.'
Her eyes grew heavy and closed. She felt a gentle tug on her. Not her body, but on her.
Her soul? Maybe. She was not sure.
A warm hold embraced her. She felt pure bliss pulse thought her. Like when she was with Naruto.
Then she heard a voice, kind and gentle, telling her she would be like this forever.
For all eternity.
Eternity? That is such a long time.
But she found that she didn't mind.
Heaven, was bliss.
