A dozen white roses lie on the grave of Hinamori Momo. They are tied together by a red bow, which, as Hitsugaya Toushiro watches, unwinds from the knot it was tied in, escapes from the flowers, and begins to sail away on the currents of the brisk September wind. His hand snatches the ribbon in mid-air. He will not let it be lost as easily as her life was.

A dozen white roses hang, lopsided, in the hands of Hitsugaya Toushiro. As he approaches the gravestone, he kneels and ties the red ribbon back to the flowers already on her grave. He takes a few minutes to look at her headstone. His fingers trace the letters carved into the rock as if it were her skin. It is the closest he can get now. He sighs, closes his eyes, and lets a small sentimental smile make its way across his mouth. "Stupid Momo. Don't you know I'm no good at this kind of thing?"

He breathes deeply, taking in the scent of the still fresh soil that rests atop her grave. He's not sure why, but it brings him some kind of comfort. Slowly, he exhales, and his eyes open again. Her image vanishes from before his eyes, replaced by the harsh reminder that he will never see that smile again. The sadness catches in his throat and he swallows, unsure of where to go from here. With a heavy sigh, he places his hands on his knees and rises to a standing position. He turns with a wave of his hand and allows the wind to carry his words back to her. "I love you, Idiot". As long as he can say that, the hole in his heart won't feel so empty. As he leaves the cemetery, he tosses the roses into a garbage can.

He steps into the driver's seat of a sleek black car waiting just outside the gates. The waiting blonde gives him a look of concern, to which he pays no attention. "I won't move on" he states firmly, eyes fixed on the windscreen in front of him. "Ridiculous" she responds immediately. He turns his head to look her in the eyes, and she can see an indescribable sadness resting atop those teal pools. "How can I move on without her, Rangiku? How do you move on from love?". She can't answer. She purses her lips and averts her gaze, subconsciously twisting the silver ring that rests on her left hand. He starts up the engine and drives away, both of them enveloped in silence.

Back inside the cemetery, a blonde figure picks up Hitsugaya's roses and slowly walks to Hinamori's grave. He lays them down next to his own, then smiles and looks towards the horizon. "She deserves your roses too. Don't go breaking her heart again, Hitsugaya Toushiro". Kira Izuru pulls a silver ring from his pocket and gives it one last longing glance, before throwing it into the distance and turning away. "Until death do us part" he echoes.
