This is either a parody of FF4 or just a funny little story. Take your pick...

Rydia hurried ahead, dodging a few villagers in Baron. She stopped by a stair case as Kain and Rosa joined her.

"I heard there was some treasure people dropped in the water up there," Rydia explained, jerking her thmb behind her.

"That's very observant of you, Rydia," Cecil praised walking to her with Edge.

"It's not observant. She's just an eavesdropper!"

Rydia had put her foot on the first step then turned around to glare at him.

"Why don't you say that again," she growled, squinting.

"You. Are. An. Eavesdropper-"

"Say it to Shiva while you're at it," Rydia said, throwing her arms in the air.

Before she could do the summoning ritual, Edge ran to her stammering.

"I-I'm sorry. I- please don't get her again! I mean-"

Rydia laughed at him. Edge crossed his arms and heard her saying something. His eyes wandered up the stairs and stopped at a woman on the very top. She was turned around and sliding her sleeve up. She turned and giggled, spying him. Her bobbed, light pink hair bounced as she walkedfarther away. Her brightly colored dress swayed. She turned again and waggled her finger. Edge fought to keep his jaw from dropping as he pushed past Rydia who shouted, 'Hey!"

He played like he was cool as he sauntered to her.

"Why, hello, beautiful," he purred.

She giggled and sashayed around him, running her fingers across his back. He shivered and grinned stupidly, watching her pretty face pass by.

"You wanna see me dance?" she asked.

His face grew warm as he accepted the offer.

She giggled and ran her hand down his side to his hip

"Hey!"

Edge was taken out of his dream like state by Rydia. She stormed up to the girl and him.

"Get away from him, you-"

"Rydia, what's wrong with you?" he demanded as he turned.

"Stay outta this, Lover boy," she hissed.

Th girl said somethingand Rydia shot back.

Then Rydia seized the girl and fought to get to her hand.

"Ladies, please! Don't fight over me!" he shouted. Rosa, Cecil, and Kain could only stare.

"Give it!" Rydia shouted.

"No!" the girl said.

Then Rydia threw her down, taking a bag from the girl's hand.

"My gil!" Edge said in surprise, taking the bag from Rydia.

"Get out of here, you thief," Rydia commanded. The girl struggled to her feet and ran off. Rydia looked over at Edge.

"Well?"

"Well what?"

"Thank you?"

"Thank you what?"

"For getting your gil back?"

"Eh, I could have done that!"

"No way. You would have gotten robbed blind without me!"

"Pfft. Women and their pride," Edge grumbled.

Rydia clenched her teeth and smacked him in the back of the head.
