Z Carson was lying on their bed when she heard someone ring the doorbell. She could not pull herself up to go and answer the door because the last time she had she received some of the worst news in her life. Bridge was away on a mission to help protect against a planet that was trying to protect itself against an attack. She had their CD player playing a song that she hadn't heard in a while. She fell asleep listening to the song play and the song was fitting this dream world that she seemed to be in.
It was two weeks after the day she turned eighteen
All dressed in white, goin' to the church that night
She had a box of letter in the passenger seat

Was it really a dream, z wondered but then saw the folded flag lying next to her. Z then remembered the funeral for Bridge who got shot in the line of duty while trying to defend the planet. She remembered the memorial shots that younger officers shot off in honor of Bridge. And then she remembered the part that almost killed her. When Sky gave Z the flag that draped the coffin. Both Cruger and Syd both hugged her and told her it would be okay.
"I really wish that it had been just a dream."
