"And He shall hear."

"As for me, I will call upon the Lord, and the Lord shall save me. Evening and morning, and at noon will I pray and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice." Psalm 55:16-17

Behold, the psalm of confidence and trust in the Lord of glory. It is truly sweet to have child-like faith in God, even though it is often hard to trust in God as our refuge, trust the best way you can and do not reject His shelter of safety. Here, the psalmist David appears to be in a time and place where he sends a request to be heard of God, and he seemed to be overwhelmed by trouble and has a sore heart. In the first verse he says, "Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication." So, he first enters his psalm prayer for God to give ear, to hear his call for help and hide not from it. It is an urgent time and he asked God to hear him, and then he went on to say, "Attend unto me, and hear me; I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise." Bless the Lord for hearing us! He heard David, of course, and I find it interesting in verses 16 & 17, where David continues in this psalm. "As for me, I will call upon the Lord, and the Lord shall save me. Evening and morning, and at noon will I pray and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice." I see no doubt in these words, no fear in saying, "And He shall hear my voice." When we pray, let it be in His Holy Spirit and in the faith of Christ, knowing that God is not far from any of us, and if we will continue to seek His righteousness, it shall with no doubt be found. It is a hidden treasure, more precious than rubies and more costly than gold. We often pray and forget, but here, David prays evening and morning, and at noon, always trusting in God to hear him each time, not only in the morning, not maybe in the evening and not sometimes at noon, but He shall hear your voice. Let your faith grow and flourish as a tree and continue as a stream, always trusting and knowing that He shall hear your voice. When doubt overcomes your faith, go back to Psalm 55, and consider it carefully. Call upon the Lord, and He shall hear your voice. Keep that as a fact in your heart.
