Boy Who Lived Makes Rare Appearance in Muggle America
We received information this morning from our sister stations in America that Harry Potter(Order of Merlin First Class, Savior-of-the-world, etc.), the current Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, was spotted in Fresno, California this Tuesday Evening at "Vote No on 8" rally. Proposition 8 is a state constitutional amendment on the 2008 California General Election ballot that, if passed, would eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry in California.
Luckily, we were able to contact Mr. Potter for a statement. Holding a "No to 8" sign in one hand and his husband's hand in the other he told us definitely.
"Discrimination is one of the largest evils to be found in our world. Be it against blood, race, gender, or sexual orientation; discriminations is just wrong. Everyone should have the right to be whoever they want to be. They also have the right to be with the person he or she wants to be with. This law is not a law against marrage, it is a law against happiness and love. It is against reaching true fulfillment in a one's life. I may not have any pull in this realm but I do hope my appearance will alert more wizards to this injustice."
His husband, Severus Snape(Order of Merlin First Class, Potions Master), the current Potions Professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, who seemed quite reluctant to be there, gave a single statement, "I believe that the muggles deserve the same chance to be as miserable as I."
