A/N: This is a songfic based on the end of Season Six and the start of Season Seven. Song: "Cassie" by Flyleaf. I changed the lyrics a bit to fit the plot since its actually about a girl, but otherwise, it's the same. Enjoy! -chaoswalking
The question asked in order
To save his life or take it
The answer no to avoid death
The answer yes would make it
Make it
There was something wrong. Something horribly, inexplicably wrong. Dean couldn't explain it, couldn't begin to apprehend the horror that fed, nauseously, into his heart. Where was Cas? This…thing. It couldn't be him. This thing that smiled with the darkness of a thousand seas. That was stained in blood and held in it's hand a misused power. This couldn't be Cas. And Dean watched as his friend, his best friend fell apart. Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cas, he pulled the trigger
Sam knows he is insane. He sees things, (Lucifer is laughing, laughing like a child with a BB gun). But nothing compares to this. Of all the things he could imagine up in his brain, his addled, ruin of a brain, this was the worst. Is he just a dream? Will they wake up to the usual? But Cas is not Cas, or rather, Sam sees nothing but Them. The souls, Purgatory sucked into a blender. And something else, something evil. It was taking over, and there was nothing Sam could do. All heads are bowed in silence
To remember his last sentence
He answered him knowing what would happen
His last words still hanging in the air
In the air
Bobby knows the smell of death. He's breathed it, lived it, known it. The boys know it too, and still they stare. There's a different pain there. Bobby feels it too. He hasn't felt it since John Winchester sold his soul for a lifetime of lies. Since a fire took Mary, and his wife was a shadow of an evil thing. It's the smell of death. The feel of nothing.
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cas, he pulled the trigger
He's burning, freezing, pulled apart from the inside out. There are things inside him. Filthy things. Angry things. And they know his name. They are pulling, pushing, shrieking, laughing. They kill in his name, in his body. This can't be happening. It shouldn't be. He is God, and God made him, he can't go like this. He's better, stronger. The New and Improved. King. And besides, he has to warn them. To help them escape himself.
The Winchesters. How many will die
I will die
I, I will say yes
It's time. Time to run. Time to be afraid and hide. The souls slide back into the slimy gates of Purgatory, and all is well for a moment, a resting moment. Deep breaths.
This isn't right.
Cas is dying.
He looks at them with complete horror. The only ones who really knew him. Who really trusted him, believed in him. And he was going to die a traitor. He couldn't let that happen.
"I can't hold them off."
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cas. He pulled the trigger
They ask who. They say it's going to be okay. Humans, ever resilient, refusing to be alone. But it's over now. He's gone. There's something new. (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God
And I will pull the trigger
"Leviathans."
