France

The time has come, hasn't it, Amérique? The time to defy that wretched Angleterre. Heh, how amusing - he's getting what he deserves. I see everything crumbling before him; it is inevitable, it is undeniable. This is the start of a new beginning! Angleterre will soon see how fragile his empire is. A little push is needed and there, there is the crumbling of grandeur.

Freedom is what we all cherish. Take that away and you are left with those who wish to regain it.

Strip away your fears and flutter like a rose. Take your revolution, Amérique.

America

I don't know what to say. There's so much and yet there's...there's somehow so little. It's just over, eh, England? The end of our tale and the beginning of our separate ones. It's for the best - it's for freedom, for true independence.

I don't think you'd understand. I don't think you ever will.

You used to be so great, England.

England

Is this how it ends, America? Is this what you truly wanted? Do you even understand what you're doing? You can't survive without me as a nation! I gave you everything, damnit! Everything to make you who you are today. Is this how I am repaid? I hope you understand the consequences; surely you must? You beg for liberty while forgetting the graces you've been given.

You'll stay, America.

...Won't you stay?

that moment when i forgot everything regular u.s. history and apush taught me about the american revolution and i had to do some refreshing.

this is kinda why i don't write hetalia fanfiction that's actually historical - i forget a lot of important details and then i have to look them up and increase my changes of getting a certain thing wrong. that, and i don't think i could do that particular genre justice, even if i was well-versed in history. i'd probably screw it up, ya know?

it's hard to explain.

and i kinda made a revolutionary girl utena reference, lol.
