Have you ever assumed that your day would be a very average, boring day? Well, I suppose most people must have, but, for some people, their day doesn't become as normal as they thought.
I lay on the ground, feeling the grass brushing against my skin; I didn't want to leave my position here, on the grass, I really had a bad gut feeling about going anywhere else, but I knew I had to get up. I groaned as I got up, already missing lying on the ground.
I went, got the car, hopped in and turned it on. I quickly rolled down the window, the car usually got extremely hot at this time of the year. My back stuck to the hot, leather seat. It was oddly comforting, to have something normal for me while my gut was screaming at me to turn around and go sit down in the grass again.
I put my key in the ignition and turned it. The car didn't budge. I turned the key again but this time more frantically. I let out a sharp breath and got out of the car to see a figure standing in the shadows. I sucked in my breath and closed my eyes, mentally screaming at myself that I was crazy, slowly losing my sanity. I heard the figure take a heavy step and my heart thudded in sync with him, foot step- heart beat, over and over.
The figure had gotten so close I could almost feel its heavy breathing on me. I felt its hand on my neck; its hand was cool against my hot neck. I felt its lips on my neck and panicked, I felt a sharp sting as if a black fly had bit me. I slapped it and ran. It was obviously in a better physical shape than me, but, somehow, I caught it by surprise.
I ran into my house and locked the doors, pulled the blinds down on all the windows and went to go to lie down on my bed. Something stopped me, though, and I ended up walking to the bathroom to examine my neck.
I tossed my hair back and looked at myself in the mirror, my green eyes scanning everything; I had an unusual look. My hair was a pale red/orange color and I had my pale green eyes, when people thought I couldn't hear them, they would always whisper they felt sorry I had these looks. I never really minded though, an opinions an opinion and there's nothing you can do to change that.
I finally looked at my neck and gasped. It was a bite mark with blood welling up around the bite. I shouldn't have been surprised. I knew the thing had bit me… but, I just wasn't expecting to be right.
