It had been two years since Edward's departure from the train station. There frequent phone calls (all that ended with Winry reminding Edward to keep his leg oilied and him telling her to stop nagging). Winry did all she could to keep herself busy while he was away. Spending a few months in Rush valley, a couple of weeks in Central with the Hughes' family. Despite how she tired to keep her mind busy, her thoughts always traveled back to Edward.

"I'll give you half of my life, so give me half of yours!"

Of course she would give him more than just that, but what would happen once he returned home? The thoughts of marrying Edward floated around in her mind for quite some time, but was that what he meant? Could she jump to such conclusions based on his Alchemy instated mind? "Why do you have to be so dumb anyway!" she sighed with frustration slamming her wrench into her wooden work space. She was starting to lose it. The blonde had been working on the same unit for an hour now. She tried to keep her thoughts at bay with working, but it was now obvious that wouldn't work.

She left her work space and decided to lay down. Maybe a nap could help. She thought falling into her bed. Her cerulean orbs began to close when she suddenly heard the doorbell. She didn't have any idea to who it would be. She wasn't expecting any costumers on this particular afternoon. The mechanic groaned lightly as she rolled out of bed. It was probably her grandmother coming back from Rush Valley. Pinako stayed behind to assist a few of the mechanics with the growing demand for automail.

She heard another ring of the doorbell as she walked down the stairs. "I'm coming!" she exclaimed trying to rush to the door. She finally managed to unlock the bolts on it and swung the cedar mass widely to see who it was. "I'm sor-" before she could finish, her eyes met a familiar pair of golden ones. This couldn't be happening. She had to be dreaming, it was the only logically explanation to why the former alchemist was standing on her porch. She remembered him saying he would call her to pick him up from the train station"

"Win, you look like you've seen a ghost." he chuckled dropping his suit case to the ground. He moved closer, pulling the blonde into a tight embrace. Edward's arms were warm around her and she could hear his heart beating against her ear. She could smell an unfamiliar scent on his shirt. It was nice. She could no longer deny that this was Edward Eric. Her Ed finally coming home just as he promised her would. She hugged him as tight as her slender arms could around his waist. Who knew when he would leave again and she needed to enjoy this moment.

She felt him pulling away slightly with his hand resting on her chin. She looked up to find him looking at her intensely. A mad flush came across her face as he leaned in. What was he going to do? she thought, though she had a pretty good idea to what his intentions were. Not wanting to scare him away, Winry closed her cerulean eyes to allow whatever was on the man's mind to happen.

He kissed her.

His lips were much softer than what she imagined them to be. Not really sure of what she was supposed to do, Winry simply continued to hold onto him until he decided to pull his lips away. She noticed he stopped and her eyes reopened to see him smiling just as he did before. The blonde smiled, resting her head against his chest once more.

"Welcome home again Dummy."
