Back Again

He pulled the suit armour closer to him, as the catalyzer started to react to the brothers' contact. "You're coming with me" was all he managed to say. They both looked down at the familiar entity which also stared at them, with its one, universal, all-knowing oculus, and dragged them closer, and closer. He held his brother's tactless, cold hand; it was for both to go in there, or else...

Next thing he knew, he was standing once again in that immaculate realm he had previously been to. He felt nervous, though relaxed; the place itself was enchanting, in a way. A melodic aria before the outcome of doom; what was going to happen, Edward knew, and he sensed the hour approaching. Yet this time the armour suit joined him. He shouted, called for the unwordly being to make itself present: he did not want to waste a single second. Unnoticed, the enitity laughed at his dispear; called him a fool, for he knew that time was unpresent. As the eldest Elric finally cooled down, a famelic body walked up to him, ever calm and steady. The Fullmetal Alchemist pointed at the impression of humanity besides him.

"I found your soul, Al"

The body's lips curved into a pleased smile, something the golden adolescent had not seen in years, and he sighed, charmed.

Out of the blue, things turned bizarre to Edward's eyes. He helplessly watched how his brother's temporary body began to shatter, to deconstruct as he heard his voice pleading for assistance. At the same time, he felt a familiar pins-and-needles sensation as his left arm, along with his entire body lost itself amidst the unseen. "Not again" he frowned, as warm tears caressed the troubled face.

He, a well-known alchemist, for the first time in a while, did not understand. Had he failed, yet again? This time, there was no help for him; no Winry, no Grandma Pinako, no armour-dressed Alphonse to shelter him from the frost embrace of death. He cried their names from the pool of tears, sweat and blood he was in. Funny, he had never cried in years, not even the first time something like this had happened, but now tears came with such easy from the windows of his soul. No saviour, no hero in his sky. As time raged by, he began to lose strenght. He didn't care; he was too tired to care. Perhaps if he could calm down and rest...

I, too, am back again. Thanks so much Songfic Misstress for the support!

I may take some time to update things, but, as summer approaches...
