Kendall watched his somewhat puerile friend James run giddily down the mall towards
Maslow's Hair and tanning salon with his two other friends Carlos and Logan chasing him
desperately.
"James! Stop! Remember what happened last time?" They yelled after him
Kendall shook his head chuckling. Classic James, he had always been very recalcitrant when it
came to his hair gel and tanning supplies. Harmless obsession? That's what everyone thought
until he used so much spray tan it turned him into a human sized umpa-lumpa. Kendall walked
slowly after his friends as if he didn't have a care in the world. As his eyes flicked to and fro
around the mall he spotted Casey, Megan and Nicole leaning against the wall looking restive.
He walked over to them with a grin on his face.
"Hello ladies!" he said cheerily
"Hey Kendall." They grumbled
"What's wrong? Not excited to see your best friend in the whole world?" he asked with
a playful gleam in his eyes
The three girls sighed
"It's not that." Said Megan
"Yeah we love you." Casey said
"It's just we got stuck carting Pansy around and she can't decide if she wants a light
purple sweatshirt or a Lavender sweatshirt." Said Nicole
"Aren't those the same thing?" Kendall asked
"Exactly!" The girls cried exasperatedly
Kendall laughed and peered into the store. Sure enough Pansy was standing very quiescent,
unbelievably still but with what seemed to be a sense of calmness, as if it didn't matter how
long she stood there in that one spot. He looked back at the three miserable girls.
"Why doesn't she just buy them both?" he asked
"Besides the fact that it would be totally stupid to buy two sweatshirts of the same
color, she can't afford them both." Replied Megan
Kendall shook his head and chuckled. He walked into the store and stole the sweatshirts from
Pansy. "I'll take those for a second." He said. He walked over to the counter and paid for the
two sweatshirts. As he strolled back over to Pansy she shrieked.
"Hey! I was going to buy one of those!"
"And now you have them both." He said handing her the bag.
"Really? Thanks! How can I ever pay you back?" she asked in a very flirty voice that
suggested she wanted to crack some dirty ribald joke about how she would love to pay him
back.
"Um how about you give me however much of them you can pay for now and then
when you can, pay me back the rest?" Kendall suggested
"Oh! Uh…sure." She said in a disappointed tone. "Here you go." She said handing him
some money.
"Thank you." He said. He strolled back out of the store where Nicole, Casey, and Megan
stood gaping.
"I believe I just solved your problems." He said grinning.
"Oh my gosh Kendall I love you!" the girls shrieked hugging him.
He chuckled. Just then he saw Carlos and Logan dragging a struggling James towards the exit.
"Come on Kendall! Let's get out of here before James gets away again." Carlos said
"That's my cue1 Good Luck with Pansy." Kendall said kissing each girl on the cheek
before he ran after his friends.
"Bye Kendall!" The girls yelled after him.
