Like fire and ice, forever in his prime,

A man without a name, without a home

Who burns immortal at the heart of time.

And doomed across the universe to roam

Through galaxies where none before have gone,

From star to star he runs because he must:

The lonely angel cursed to venture on

As those he loves are withered into dust.

So much deep sorrow trapped in those old eyes

That saw worlds burn and lives that he has cost.

Everyone knows that everybody dies,

But still it pains him after they are lost.

Not daring to look back, away he flew,

The broken man with both hearts torn in two.
