Disclaimer: I own the plot, nothing more, nothing less.
"You are mine," he growled roughly into her ear as he shoved her into the wall along the third floor corridor. No one was around as class was going on around them, the hall deserted except for the two. Just in case, not taking any chances, he cast a notice me not and a silencing spell around them. "You may go to the ball with him, but remember that it is me who makes sure that the rest of my friends don't haul you off to those Death Eater raids and kill you."
She knew why he was mean to her, knew he loved her deep down for that was how it had started, but after this summer, something inside of him had snapped and she didn't know how to get rid of the abusive man in front of her, and replace him with the loving boy she fell in love with. "I promise that nothing will happen between us. You know that I love you more than that Quidditch pretty boy. I only agreed because we can't go together because of Pansy."
She held her breath, waiting for the recoil to what she had said. They could never properly be together until his father died, or Pansy choose someone to marry. As of now her sights were on the Slytherin Prince and the Gryffindor Princess could do nothing about it. His eyes narrowed and had they been anywhere else, he probably would have struck her face as he had done the last time she brought the topic up.
A year ago, Draco would have comforted her, reassured her that he would stay with her forever, but with the Dark Mark growing on his father's arm by the day, he knew it was only a matter of time before he was going to be called to be initiated. He still loved her, still saw a future for them, but not as long as the Dark Lord was around. If she was captured, and her memories were gone through, he had an alibi for dating her, as well as, sticking with her for so long. He hated having to do this to her time and again, but when Potter defeated the Dark lord, if he ever did, they could go back to the way it was supposed to be, him loving her and making up for the years he had to prove otherwise.
