It was raining and D'eon just came home. He was drenched from head to toe. After he changed to warmer clothing he went to the study was reading a book. 'Was' being the right word since he fell asleep before he could finish a single chapter.
D'eon was in a restless slumber. He was dreaming of Lia again. Then he awoke to the sound of footsteps. D'eon immediately stood and grabbed his sword. He lived alone after his sister, Lia, was found dead in a casket flowing down the river. His heart filled with sadness as he remembered the moment when he opened the casket only to be greeted by his sister's beautiful face.
The sound of shattering glass from the upper floor pulled him out his thoughts (the study was on the ground floor.).
He walked quietly out of the study, up the stairs with sword in hand. He listened carefully and waited. There were 3 bedrooms; his, Lia's, and one for guests who stayed for the night. He heard movement in Lia's room. He hasn't been in there for awhile. Too many things reminded him of the times Lia and he spent together.
When he heard the sound again he opened the door and ran into the room. What he saw nearly gave him a heart attack. Lia, his sister, LIA was on the floor. She was ALIVE! But, she was a child! She was still the same way the last time he saw her alive, same hair style, same dress, only smaller.
"L-Lia?"
Huge green eyes stared back at him looking at him curiously. Lightning flashed and thunder roared outside, the rain earlier turned into a storm. Little Lia, frightened, started crying. D'eon remembered that Lia wasn't fond of storms especially lightning storms. His face softened, he approached the trembling child kneeled in front of her. Lightning flashed again and little Lia grabbed onto D'eon. D'eon hugged her back and whispered soothing words.
"Shhhh...It's alright, my little one... You're safe... You're safe..."
D'eon was so happy, no he was ecstatic! His sister was alive only smaller. D'eon heard little snoring sounds coming from his chest. He looked down and saw the most angelic scene. Little Lia had cried herself to sleep and with the moonlight washing over her face. He smiled to himself and thanking the good lord for giving him another chance to be with his sister again. He carried Lia to her to bed and placed her gently on it. He tucked her in the same way Lia did when he was a child.
"Good Night, little Lia. Sweet dreams."
He kissed her on her forehead and stood to make some tea to calm himself down a little.
