There Was A Place I Use To Live

There was a place I use to live

Down a country dirt road

The sun always shone for the rain never fell

So the sky was forever blue, and green grass grew

There was a place I use to live

With a family small of four

My brother young and wild

A mother simple though beautiful

Strong through his silence was my father

And then there was me

A curious child, at one time free

There was a place I use to live

Now the years have passed

Seasons changed oh to fast

The country road is now a muddy old path

Beneath the withered grass the sun has sunk

And the sky forever blue became a dull gray

There was a place I use to live

It lives now in my memory

A/N: This is just a little thing I wrote after watching the Road To Perdition, and while listening to the soundtrack. I've never written poetry (as is probably quite obvious since this is terrible) but I still appreciate reviews.
