Standard disclaimers I don't own Ghostbusters that honor belongs to Dan Acroid. But Sarah, Maxx, and all other non cannon characters are mine!

He sat perched atop an ornate mausoleum letting the stillness of the night's velvet black wrap around him, almost soothing him. The nineteen year old teenager was a strange sight to behold, his hair a tawny blond mix was naturally spiky and gave him a surfer boy look but stair into Maxxwell Spangler's striking intelligent blue eyes and you would swear he was a NSA agent searching for a terrorist. He wore a simple tight fitting black t-shirt, a pair of loose Black cargo pants, and laying across his lap was a blood red coat.

As he looked out across the seemingly endless expanse of the cemetery the multitudes of polished granite and marble glinting in the ebony moon light his well trained eyes stopping only momentarily on anything that held promising movement. So far this little field trip was turning out to be a big flop; at least it was a beautiful night. It was strange to Maxx how a people could be afraid of cemeteries, they were little more than well manicured parks, but then he had never really been scared of the things most people were. Just the opposite, here he wanted to know who these people were and what their story was. Maxx had a child like curiosity when it came to the unknown.

A couple more hours passed with still no sign of movement, Maxx was starting to get bored which was never a good thing.

I knew I should have brought my home work, thought Maxx as he pulled his ecto-goggles from his right thigh pocket to continue his search as the clouds began to cover the moon.

-----------------------

Sarah Leeds quietly scolded herself for letting her car run out of gas right in front of a place as creepy as the city's old grave yard, excuse her, cemetery, but no matter what it was called the place was awful.

Hugging her jacket close Sarah quickly walked past the cemetery's old rod iron gate, or at least tried to. She got as far as two steps in front of it when an ugly four leg creature some where between a lizard and a really big dog.

Sarah screamed as it edged its way toward her swinging its eyeless lizard like head from side to side, its long neon green forked tongue lashing out at the air. The monster kept in a synchronized walk with her backing Sarah up and pinning her up against the back of her car. Sarah screamed again as the monster opened its mouth to reveal a mouth with four rows of razor sharp teeth.

Just as it lunged at her, its horrid mouth agape a baseball sized disk of intense light shot down its through and exploded allowing great arcing streams of the mysterious energy to course over the monster sending it into convulsions. Sarah stood stunned.

What just happened? , she thought then she saw him. He was around her age eighteen/nineteen and was dressed in nearly all black except for the sickening red coat that stopped just below his knees. What caught her attention about him though was the odd looking pair of goggles he wore and the crossbow like contraption attached to his wrist.

'What the hell was that thing?', shouted Sarah.

'That is a shinstorm or a terror dog.'', the teenager answered,'' and your lucky I was in the area.'' Sarah stared lost in the musings of a girl meeting a guy that was too gorgeous to be real, then the smug way he said the last part of his statement hit. ''Let me guess, Ghostbuster.'',Sarah deadpanned. The teen only smiled and said ,''Welcome to New York.''
