Nothing but a dream
It was a beautiful sight. Miriam was looking the gentle golden light of the sun filtered by a tree's leaves. A sweet sea-smelling breeze was stroking her skin. She was at under a tree and picking some green blades of grass.
"It's so relaxing…" she thought basking in the sunlight.
She touched her cheek. It was so warm, so velvety, so…unusual. Her hand went near her mouth. She felt something cutting and sharpen.
"No…it's like the last time…no, I don't want…"
Then the light began to hurt her. Her skin was scratching. Everything around her changed completely: the tree was loosing its leaves, the grass was drying up. Everything was dying.
Her skin began to burn. She screamed.
Black.
Miriam woke up. It was only a dream.
She turned in the bed, she looked at the rocky gothic window of her room. The cold and white light of the moon was coming from the outside. She understood: she was in the castle.
In that hated castle.
"So it's true…" she got up and went near the window. She looked at the deserted Transylvanian region She ran trough the room and reached the mirror. She moved in front of it, she jumped near it, she touched it…nothing. Nothing was visible. Nothing was reflected by the mirror.
"It's true! It's true!" she shouted in the darkness.
She didn't mind if he would heard. She didn't mind if shedisturbed him.
When she saw him that night he was so charming, so fascinating, so gallant. Nothing like those peasants of her village. He was so well dressed, so elegant. There was a strange light in his eyes. She trusted him.
When he bit her neck she understood everything. But it was too late.
She died, but she continued to live.
He said her that it was all normal.
She was now a bride, Dracula's bride! A monstrous and beautiful vampire that fed on human blood.
He made her taste it. It looked like wine...but it was more tasteful.
She would never see the sun again. Forced to hide from light and to wander in the night.
She became an un-dead four days before.
"You simply have to adapt, don't worry…" said the other two ladies in the castle.
Miriam was walking in the room when the light of the moon flashed in it and Dracula appeared on the window. Dressed with a black cloak and dark clothes, he was staring at her with his arms crossed and a leg leaned against the wall. His look was cold and strong.
"What do you want?" she asked nervously.
"Don't you fit well in your new life?"
"You deceived me!"
"Did I?"
"Don't you see what I'm now? I'm a filthy creature! A demon! A monster that is forced to kill the others! A…"
"If you want to leave…you can do it. Only one thing: beware the sun."
*
Miriam was running in a sunny field with her parents, she was laughing, everyone was happy…
She woke up.
Three years had passed and she knew that it was only a dream.
