The Art of Cutting Hair
-x-
Amagiri and Shiranui didn't dare say anything to the frowning Kazama. They had just attacked the Shinsengumi not too long ago and knew they left a definite mark in their territory, but Kazama was greatly ticked off at the turn of events.
Kazama's frown thickened as he picked through his hair. That man, Hijikata was it, was surely a man to look out for. Not only was he the one to keep away his future wife, but he also dared to scratch his face. Worst of all, he cut his hair. And this was the second time.
Amagiri and Shiranui knew that too, but neither would confront Kazama about it. The two were a little ways ahead of Kazama, and once they were hopefully out of earshot they began talking.
"Kazama doesn't seem to happy now does he?" Shiranui sighed. "And after we infiltrated the Shinsengumi and messed them all up, I'd think he'd be grinning."
"No." Amagiri plainly responded.
"I guess having a chunk of hair being cut off really deals a blow then." Shiranui wouldn't exactly know how that felt though since he had enough hair already, tracing down to the lower end of his back. "I don't see why though. It's not like he was shot a million times with one of these babies." He lifted his handgun and twirled it around with skill.
"Kazama is very particular about his hair. He has great pride in it." The large man quietly replied.
"Then why doesn't he grow it out? Something like this wouldn't matter that much if he had long hair, like me." Shiranui pulled at his hair, then received a cold chill from behind that shut his mouth for a while.
After a few moments, Amagiri spoke. "Kazama's hair grows very slowly." He said this in the quietest tone he could muster.
"He wakes up earlier than we do." Shiranui took a glance at him. "How do we know that he doesn't wake up really early to style his hair like that?"
Once again, both of them were enveloped in silence.
Shiranui shrugged. "Anyway, anymore of this cutting of hair would be troublesome."
"Why's that?"
"Because if he's all depressed at a chunk of his well groomed hair being chucked off, what would happen if that man who slices at his hair all the time continues?" He clicked his handgun and pointed it backwards. "Kazama would go bald. And that's probably as bad as bad could get."
"…Perhaps that Hijikata knows that Kazama dislikes having his hair cut since this is the second time." Amagiri thought deeply, reviewing the recent actions. "He's a very perceptive man, just like that Saitou."
"We should make Kazama wear a helmet or something.." Shiranui suggested..
"No… Kazama likes showing his hair though."
"Then what? Should we tell him to keep his head away from any kind of sword at all cost?"
"Doesn't everybody do that?"
Shiranui frowned. "He likes flashing his hair all over the place doesn't he?"
"Well, it's not every day where there's someone with blonde hair walking about here in Japan." Amagiri reasoned. "Nor do we usually find red and blue and green."
"In the Shinsengumi, there's that guy with the spear that has red hair."
"I guess Kazama is just special then." Amagiri then concluded. "Well, let's leave the matter for later."
"Just make sure Kazama doesn't go bald?"
"You shouldn't say that so easily. Kazama might hear you."
"Well, good. At least we don't have to explain it to him right?"
Another blast of cold, icy air rushed to both of their backs. And with that, the conversation ended.

Haha. Haven't you noticed that there's always a little scene left out to show that Hijikata had sliced off a part of Kazama's hair (twice)? It just totally stood out to me. But this is just me being silly. I think it would be funny though of Kazama really did act that way afterwards (but I highly doubt it).
