"Oh where's Megumi? Is she alright?!"
"Oh hush. She's fine."

Every school year, It's a tradition we hold a music festival. Of course, sponsored by the music club... But this time, I wanted it to shine a little differently. The new school always tops the old one. Dances, Bands, Ballad singers alike perform what they have been studying over the school year as a tribute to all of the other students hard work and for their own. Suga-kun and I have been dating for 6 months so far and I wanted to go back a little traditionally.
"Are you ready, Megu?" Mirai fixes the hem of the dress we had bought just the day before. Adding the finishing touches to my hair, she hands me my microphone patting me up top my shoulders.
"Just like we practiced. Remember, you worked so hard for this. Hes going to love it."
The MC glides up onto the stage with enthusiasm. Letting out a low chuckle before reading from his notecard.
"Alright everyone, so to kick off the ballad portion of this festival, We changed it up a little. Now, this second year has really been working really hard to present this to her special someone. Coming to practice everyday, studying diligently. The best part is she even bring cookies for the staff and upperclassmen for taking the time to teach her. Singing a Korean Trot song called 고추/Gochu , please anticipate our special surprise."
Soon enough, the lights pointing up towards the stage went out and the audience went quiet. The sound of my heels clacked hitting the makeshift stage below and I took my place in the middle of the stage. I nodded off to the music director as he signaled for the lights. The music began to play and I gripped my mic tighter pulling it closer to my body.
"Passing by hill after hill, there is still one left-"
I could feel the pressure getting to me and my legs begin to feel weak.
"Even if I pass them all, it's an endless mountain pass. Living in this world, living this life, it's spicy, spicy like chili peppers."
"If I was living with my beloved-," Just as my breath starts to feel short, I squeeze my eyes shut to try and calm myself. The music felt distant as it slowed and I thought I had blacked out for a moment, to feel two hands on my hips. "Whether is be for a thousand years or ten thousand years..." Gasps, and murmurs fill the air with the music continuing to play. My eyes shoot open at the line of the song that wasn't sung by me of course, to see Suga standing there looking down at me with a smile.
"The two of us, two of us, We will live lightly."
He continued off the first part, turning around, keeping his his right hand latched at my waist. "You're doing good. Keep it up." Suga leans in whispering his encouragement and ends up jumping off stage when its time for my next line. Fumbling for my thoughts, I stand up straight looking down at him in the front.
"Living in this world, living this life. It's spicy, spicy like chili peppers."
As the music begins to pick up and so in my confidence. With the audience clapping along with me, I couldn't help but smile at the enjoyment everyone was feeling. The music came to a sudden stop as the song finished its last notes.
"Um..." I stood there for a good 30 seconds until reality finally struck me and I could feel my face grow hot. I looked out to the crowd bowing lightly and shuffling off stage.
'How embarrassing!'

Honestly, I wasn't that into Trot Lovers (KDrama) Because it just made me angry BUY I grew attached to Trot songs. Now I love them lol. So since... Megumi is half korean and half japanese, I thought why not. Fun Fact: Jin-Hae (Megumi) can speak Korean, Japanese, English (Fairly well) and a filipino (Conversational). Yeeehhhh only cause she was stuck in a hospital since she was little so there were elderly there that taught her diff languages.
