For most of their life's, all the autobots have know was war, killing and death. Once they arrived on Earth, it dimmed a bit. The fighting wasn't as constant, but that didn't keep them from being on their toes. But what they never thought about was the human wars fought on Earth. Until September 11th rolled around. When Arcee, Bulkhead, and Bumblebee when to pick up their human friends, they couldn't help but notice they seemed...sad. When the three Cybertronians questioned their humans, all they got was silence. Deciding not to push the subject, the ride back to base was in an awkward silence.
Even after the six friends entered the base, it was silent. All the 3 children did was sit quietly, even Miko. This concerned all of the autobots. Arcee was the first to speak.
"Jack...are you feeling ok?"
Jack looked up from his guardian. "Yeah, fine." He lied.
"No your not. You three have been quiet all day, ad we're worried." Bulked stated.
A quick look was shared between the three Earthling.
"...It's better they find out know." Raf said.
"12 years ago today... four planes were hijacked. All by a group of people known as AL-Qaeda. They were known as terrorists. One plane...crashed into the North tower?"
"The what?" Ratchet said
"One of the Twin Towers. Also known as the World Trade Center. "Raf said shyly. "They were two towers in New York City that were over 100 stories high. At first, people though it was an accident."
"But... the South Tower was hit soon after." Jack said, his voice crack slightly. "Another one hit the Pentagon in Washington D.C...Over 3,000 innocent people died that day. It...was one of the worst days in American History."
Miko gave a few sobs. "My cousin Haruki, Hanako, and Hiroko were on the plane that hit the North Tower. They... were coming home from vacation. That day... was the worst day of my life."
Jack put an arm around her and pulled her close. To say the Autobots were speechless was an understatement. When they arrived on this planet, they thought such small beings were incapable of harming one another. But now... they knew their was more to these tiny beings, then meets the eye.
I'm sorry its short, and it's not exactly the BEST 9/11 fanfic out there, but... the message is clear. 9/11 changed all of us. It doesn't matter is we knew the people that died, we all mourn for the innocent people who died. And to those brave citizens who tried to overpower the hijackers on the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. Never forget.
