Lily looked nervously around the corner of her living room, searching for anything that might look human…or not. She shuddered, unable to control the impulse. Seeing the room was empty, slowly she tiptoed out from behind the wall, wand raised; ready for any attack that might fly her way. She was actually doing quite well when she unwittingly stepped on possibly the only creaky floorboard in her house. Spinning around, her flaming hair rippling, she only caught a dark glimpse of her attacker before being tackled to the ground…and proceeded to laugh. James looked down at his wife, grinning. He had always loved that laugh- it was one of the many things that drew him to her. Lily smiled mischievously up at her husband and told him to get off, but alas, he was James Potter and not prone to following orders, even if they were directly from her. She sent a tickling charm his way and so she was able to stand whilst her better half writhed with laughter on the floor.
"Make it…ha ha ha…stop…Lils!" he appealed to her desperately. A tiny piece of Lily was tempted to leave him there, but Harry was crying upstairs and James always helped to calm him.
"Finite Incantatem." she murmured, and James immediately leapt for his wand and laughed dramatically. "Ha ha, Lily Potter! Your weakness will be the death of you! How do you expect to fight the Dark Forces if you can't even tickle your husband?" James still hadn't gotten over the wonderfulness of that phrase- husband. Mmm. She smiled at him lovingly. "We've got to check on Harry." Like everything else that James does, he turns it into a game. "I'll beat you to him!" The youthful Gryffindors clamber up the stairs tripping each other up, trying to deter the other, laughing the whole while.
