So, I've written this as a rough draft for the Scholastic Poetry Contest, and I'd love some feedback on how to improve it, since I've actually never written poetry and only read some. It would be super super awesome if people could give me some advice on how to improve it. BTW:
It does have to be no more than 20 lines, and it also needs to not have any profanity or offensivly graphic lines, and I need it turned in by November 8th, 2017. Even if you read it after that, still review! I love it!
And for any readers who have read either of my other stories, Against the Good or The Jedi and the Nascar Races, I'm super sorry about not having updated them, I'm crazy busy this year, and on the weekdays, I seem to be mostly at home to eat dinner, go to bed, and wake up. I've even been doing HW mostly on the go. Anyway, I'm super sorry, and I'll try to update those soon
DISCLAIMER: I don't own Star Wars
I wanted to wake up from my nightmare,
To run away with him and our child,
To have peace, our love as it once was.
I wouldn't believe the truth about him,
My longing overcoming reality.
Anakin's eyes told me the truth,
That he had changed, inside and out,
Covering him with a dark cloud that could be lifted,
If only he would let me try.
Anakin's words spoke as his eyes appeared,
Evil, lustful for power.
But only I could lift this curse set upon him.
If only I knew the spell.
I felt his relief when I held him, a weight lifted from his shoulders.
And I would have thought he had never changed,
If I had never looked into his eyes,
Now cold fire, having changed like the tide.
For Anakin's evil,
I blame Chancellor Palpatine.
Hope you enjoyed, and please give feedback!
