I Belong Here, With You

Opening his eyes to the darkness that was surrounding him, Will realized two things; one, he fell asleep on the couch in his living room and two, Emma fell asleep on top of him.

In his not entirely coherent state, Will fumbled for the blanket that's usual resting place was on the top of the couch and threw it over both of them, before he fell back into much needed sleep, it came to him what was not really right about this picture.

Emma Pillsbury was asleep on top of him.

Resisting the urge to sit right up to see if she was still there, Will tried not to make any sudden movements.

The events of the previous night started to fall into his mind.

Emma had come over to help him move into his new apartment the previous day and after un-packing many, many boxes with things Will had even forgot he had. After, Emma cleaned the apartment top to bottom, and a bunch of things that Will didn't even know you had to clean.

After the last of his belongings had found its new place in Will's new home, he hesitantly asked if she wanted to stay for dinner and to watch a film.

Will didn't even remember when he fell asleep. And now he was in a delicate place.

Should he wake Emma, who would probably freak out that she fell asleep, or just leave her and try to get back to sleep even though they had school in a couple of hours and he knew that there was no hope in hell that Emma would go in the same clothes she was wearing.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, the decision was taken out of his hands when he heard her gasp suddenly. Sitting up she looked towards him.

"Em, it's alright." Will whispered, sitting up too. "We just fell asleep, Ok?" Swallowing, he hoped that Emma wouldn't get too freaked out.

Taking a shaky breath, Emma replied. "Yeah, sorry – got freaked out, didn't know where I was for a moment there. What time is it?"

Turning on the light that was on the side table, Will found out that it was 4 o'clock.

"It's 4."

"I should go." Emma whispered, though she wished she didn't have to.

"O.K, let me just get some shoes on; I'll take you home,"

"Why? It's a 15 minute drive I've taken before." Emma replied, smiling.

"At four in the morning?" Will questioned.

"Granted I've never done that, but hey first time for everything." Emma caught herself from leaning further into his presence. She standed up quickly before doing something she'd fear she'd regret later.

"Please just let me drive you, I don't like thinking about you out there on your own in the early hours of the morning because of me." Will pleaded.

"I'll be fine Will, but if it makes you feel any better I'll call you when I get in." Emma smiled.

"I can't convince you can I?"

"No, you can't." Emma smirked.

"I honestly don't mind driving you to your place."

"How would I get to school in the morning? My car would be left here."

"Well..." Will tried to think of a solution.

"You'll see me in a couple of hours, and then you'll know I was fine, Will." Emma cut in before Will could speak, "See you soon, OK?" Emma nodded as she went to the front door.

"Emma wait." Will hurried after her.

"What?"

"Thank you." That's all can think of you big dolt, 'Thank You!' Just say what you feel already.' Will thought to himself.

"You're welcome." Emma replied raising an eyebrow.

"Would you like to come over tomorrow? Well tonight?" Will asked.

"We've already un-packed all of your boxes though." Emma replied, confused.

"Yeah, I know – I meant like a date, if you want – I want to start afresh with you Emma."

"I'd like that." Emma nodded then unlocked the door. "I'll see in you in a couple of hours then?"

"Yeah, remember to phone me!"

"I will, Will." Emma smirked as she walked into the chilly night air.
