Phoebe Nicholes wasn't your typical Ravenclaw. Yes, she was smart and quiet, mostly avoiding conflict when she could but that didn't mean she was typical. While Phoebe thirsted for knowledge which was then used it to her (and sometimes others) advantage, she considered herself lucky because she was (while not being pureblood), she was at least half-blood which was better than being muggle-born. They got treated the worst - mostly by purebloods like Malfoy and his friends.
Loud laughter pulled Phoebe out of her thoughts and she turned her body slightly to the right in time to see Potter and his friends - Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew all at Gryffindor table all laughing at something or another. If it hadn't been for her smarts and her need for knowledge, she was almost sure the sorting hat would have placed her in Gryffindor.
There wasn't a lot in life she disliked apart from Slytherins but Potter and his friends, particularly Black happened to be on of them. The Marauders as they were now nicknamed, walked through life - and the castle - thinking they were untouchable. They pulled stupid pranks, got detentions, embarrassed others, such as muggle-born Lily Evans, bullied people (mostly Severes Snape who happened to be Lily's best friend and in Slytherin) and thought they were all that.
Black irritated her the most though. He went through girls like water; not going out with them properly, just using them to satisfy his own needs then dumping them not long after before moving onto his next victim and leaving them heartbroken. It was wrong, it was disgusting and she honestly didn't know how he could live with himself.
She herself had a boyfriend or rather, ex boyfriend, Thomas Robinson. The boy was too damn annoying, possessive and demanding so she dumped him. The problem was he didn't seem to get the message, often following her around and begging (pathetically in her opinion) for her to take him back. She sighed.
It was only a couple of months into their fourth year and already she felt tired. The lessons we OK...it was just everything else and after yet another run in with Thomas, Phoebe had had enough. She needed a plan to get him off her back once and for all. The question was: who was going to be the one to help her? Looking around the great hall, her eyes settled on the perfect person.
Sirius Orion Black.
