"Mr Wood?"

The knock on the door was repeated.

Oliver groaned. It was probably just one of those reporters again. He did not feel like getting up just yet. His head was pounding. Pulling the pillow back over his head, he turned over to block the noise.

"Mr Wood! This is important!" The voice was quite loud this time. Oliver sat up amd frowned. It seemed somewhat familiar. Where had he heard it before? As realisation dawned upon his face, he paled. Quickly casting a Scourgify, and a spell to fix the mess that was his apartment, he ran towards the door and opened it.

On the other side, stood a concerned-looking former Professor of his.

"Professor McGonagall?" he asked, still in shock. Then, realisong she had probably been standing outside for a while, he invited her in.

Once they were sitting in front of the small table, Oliver found his tongue again.

"To what to I owe the pleasure, Professor?" he asked, as formally as he could.

"I'm terribly sorry about what happened, Mr Wood."

Oliver flinched. Getting kicked out of his Quidditch team was the reason he had essentially turned into a drunk recluse.

But the Headmistress of Hogwarts continued. "I am here to offer you a job. Professor Hooch is retiring soon. I would like to offer you her position."

Oliver sat stunned for a moment, unable to believe what he was hearing. Then, he shook his head. "I will not be able to help, I'm afraid. Besides, you can probably get a much better player than me to coach the students."

In response, the Headmistress raised an eyebrow. "You are one of the best Quidditch players we have seen at Hogwarts, Mr Wood!"

Oliver sighed. "Recent events indicate otherwise..."

McGonagall shook her head. "Mr Wood, I have heard from your friends about your recent behaviour. It worries theem, and frankly it worries me. I cannot believe this! It is hardly in the spirit of Gryffindor to give up so easily!"

Oliver looked at his feet. "I am not sure..."

"However, I am," she cut him off. "I expect an owl from you soon, Mr Wood." And with that, she was out of the door.

Oliver sat in silence for a while. Then, he took a deep breath and Summoned a parchment. Perhaps new beginnings wouldn't be a terrible idea.
