A/N: I don't own anything, but the plotline… you know the deal.

Learning to Forgive

Prologue

Hello, my name is Ginny Malfoy. I know, most people would have expected me to say something like 'Ginny Potter'. However, I'm afraid that that was never the case. Harry and I dated off and on for a few years, but it was never anything serious. I think it was mostly just to keep everyone else happy. People just seemed to be in love with the concept of Harry and I as a couple. Don't get me wrong though, it wasn't one of those things were Harry and I had a nasty break-up so I ran to Draco for revenge. I still do love Harry. It just wasn't the kind of love that a man and wife would have for each other.

I met Draco again when I was twenty-two. The war was over and we were just trying to forget that it had ever happened. Everyone lost someone. I lost two of my brothers, and he lost everyone. I guess it would be strange for most people to think that we'd just try to forgive the other side… but what good would it have done England for its magical community to still have secret grudges with each other?

As I was saying before I end off on the topic of the war. I met Draco again at Harry's five year reunion at Hogwarts. I know that that sounds awful, I was Harry's date and fiancée at the time, but I'll never forget the way my heart jumped when I saw him standing there. He was dressed in a black muggle suit with a red shirt and tie. His eyes were so sad as he just stood by the punch bowl staring at the pictures for our youth. Crabbe and Goyle, his two best friends had died during the war. It was rumored that they had actually died trying to protect him, but I guess that's just one of those things that we're never going to know for sure.

Harry was the one who lead me over to him with a smile. "Hello Malfoy, how have you been doing over the years?"

He looked towards Harry with those sad eyes, "Harry, why are you talking to me? Don't you hate me? I killed some of your closest friends. I killed Lupin and Dean during the war. I tried to kill Dumbledore at Hogwarts. Are you trying to say that you forgive me or something?"

"Malfoy," Harry said. "Of course, I forgive you. It was war, we all killed people."

Draco looked down at the floor as a tear fell out of his left eye. "Don't. I don't deserve to be forgiven."

I looked over to Harry for a second, before stepping towards Draco and wrapping my arms around him. "Malfoy, don't say that. You were fighting for what you believed in. You should never say that you don't deserve to be forgiven." I could feel his arms wrap around me as the tears started flowing freely.

I think that that was when I fell in love with him. He was so weak and trusting. I had looked over to Harry and he just smiled at me and nodded. He walked behind me later that day and I handed him the ring… no one ever even knew that we were engaged.

A/N: Well, here it is, in case you hadn't just assumed, I don't own Harry Potter, or anything else other than the plotline. I know that it's different from the stories I have written in the past. But please review and tel me if you think I should continue it or not. I already know what is going to happen for myself, I just need to see what other people think about it.
