Description: Do you ever wonder what happens with Sylvia and James after What You Mean to Me and before they entered the tavern? I did, so I wrote a cute little story between Sylvia and James! Enjoy!
...
Sylvia pulled out of the kiss, looking up at James differently. He placed back the missing puzzle piece that was lost after Arthur had died. He made Peter smile, he took care of them financially as well.
They stood watching each other, she knew James felt the change of their friendship after the kiss. They really did love each other. She smiled reassuringly at James telling him that she enjoyed the kiss, which he returned the smile.
James leaned forward to kiss her cheek. Sylvia blushed. They were still in the theatre, the ghost light flickering between them. "We should probably get to The Swan, everyone is waiting for the appearance of the great playwright." Sylvia started to walk towards the stage door.
"Wait." James grabbed her wrist pulling her in by the coat. "One more minute." He smiled
"Okay." She smiled standing with him leaning in for another kiss. They stood there kissing for a while. They were happy.
As they decided to leave James held out his hand. "Walk with me?" Sylvia accepted his hand and exited the theatre.
As the stepped out of the stagedoor, they felt the light mist of rain. Sylvia let go of his hand and twirled around in the rain.
" I love the mist." She smiled at him as she watched him smile and join her playing in the mist. They had small talk about the boys, the next little adventure that they would take in Kensington Park, and they were talking about their life since they had last spoken.
She took his hand and smiled. "I'm sorry that I left our friendship. I thought that Mrs. Barrie and your divorce was due to me." She was embraced by James. "The rumors were becoming true in my head." She sighed.
"Never, Mary and I grew apart before we even met." He felt his hand get sweaty. "Mary wanted more of the perfect suitor." He weakly smiled. "And I wasn't that." He looked at her and Sylvia looked up too. Their eyes met and she kissed him, while still being in the embrace. They were lit under the oil lit lamps of the road. The towns people were watching them confirming the love that they had for each other. "I think this rumor might turn into the truth." James smiled as he watched the bystanders watch them.
"I don't even want to think about it." As she kissed him again with another passionate kiss. She broke the kiss, "We really need to go!" As Sylvia took his hand and ran through the mist with him. As they neared the tavern, they stopped. Hearing the loud cheers and singing that the company was making inside the building. "I love you James." As she brushed her fingers over his lips.
"I love you too Sylvia." As they kissed one last time before entering the tavern. They would enter the tavern as a couple than friends unlike when the cast departed from the theatre.
They opened the doors as the company cheered for them making their appearance. James lead Sylvia to the free table to sit.
