Notes- Anyone else read this? I have only read up through chapter 9, but I am freaking in love with it XD AND THEN! I found out that Go Comi is releasing the first book in January -sparkle- I'm so exciiiiiiiiiiited, so I just HAD to write a fanfiction (or more, depending on how thinks turn out rotfl) Enjoy! To Teito Klein, Mikage had been his everything since Mikage had forced his way into Teito's life. He'd had nothing that he could remember that he cherished before that. Mikage had clung to him, and was his friend even though no one else could stomach Teito. They had been in love too. Mikage was always so dazzling in Teito's eyes. That was something Teito couldn't remember ever having felt about anyone else, and no one had ever been as gentle to him as Mikage had.
Underneath his cold exterior, Teito was a true romantic. The other boy must have known this too, because he courted Teito so sweetly. Somehow, he always knew what Teito really meant, and in some instances Teito knew what Mikage meant too. Like when he wrote 'Chibi' into the ground with his Zaiphon (and it happened often) he really meant 'I love you, Teito' and when Teito chased Mikage angrily - because really, couldn't Mikage think of something better?! Something less offensive?!- he was thinking the same thing, and he never really hurt Mikage. He knew it was just Mikage, and Mikage's love.
Then he'd gone and died for Teito. He'd had half his soul removed and was killed out of mercy, just to save Teito's life. Now Teito had nothing again.
It was strange how attached Teito had gotten in such a short amount of time. They had only been together for less than a year, so it shouldn't have been so lonely without Mikage. He shouldn't have been so torn up to know he would never see him again. 'Wasn't I stronger than this?!' he would think to himself, over and over again as he clutched what Mikage left behind, at night when there was no one else to distract himself.
Mikage had become a part of him over their time together, so when Teito lost him, he lost a large part of his strength. He couldn't even go to avenge him!
Teito had nothing. Not even Mikage's revenge. Damn that Ayanami, for everything!
He supposed it wasn't fair to say he had nothing though. He had gained a few things. His memories of the past were more or less back, and Mikage's soul was reborn as the serapi that followed Teito everywhere, and Frau...
When was it that Teito had started thinking so fondly of Frau so often? Frau wasn't tender or loving or gentle or dazzling! There was no way he could ever compare to Mikage and yet, he'd taken up a place in Teito's heart.
Teito hoped Mikage would forgive him for being so fickle so soon after his death. Teito would always love Mikage, but he was gone. Even if he'd been reborn, he had no memories of Teito, or the military, or of his last words I love you. Teito was left to pick up the pieces.
Frau came up beside him and stared at him with his evil looking eyes, a porn magazine just barely hidden between the pages of a library book, and he sat next to Teito.
Would it be okay if he did fall in love again?

I would like to note that I did take a few liberties, or made assumptions or whatever...I don't feel I got Teito's nature down very well...but I dunno. Please tell me what you think, and what I need to work on! Thanks!
