Hi! Just a quick one shot. Set after the events at Wayland Manor. An inevitable conversation ends in the inevitable kiss and confession. Hope you enjoy it.
Unfortunately I'm not Cassie Clare... duh.
They ran. Away from the house that was crumbling. Away from the Angel that had answered so many questions. Away from more questions neither of them wanted to ask.
Finally, they got a safe distance away. Clary collapsed onto the grass, sitting, trembling. Jace lowered himself slowly, shaking just as much. He wanted to refute what Ithruiel had told them; yet it must be true.
Gradually calming down, Clary and Jace glanced up at each other at the same time. Even in light of what had just happened, Clary blushed. Cursing her hormones, she looked directly at him. "Jace- "
"Don't. Just don't." He shook his head. "God, Clary, it's so mucked up. I'm so mucked up. And I still - you're my sister, Clary, and I-"
He broke off, leaving her with a only a pained sigh. "Jace. I know how you feel. Don't push me away, please. I - I feel the same way. It's not the - the demon or whatever. Or maybe if it is, I'm mucked up too. But you're not the only one, okay?" She closed her eyes, fighting to keep her breathing even, but with tears still sparkling in her eyes. That looked back at him. "I hate it." She couldn't help it; her voice broke. "I hate it, why is everything so messed up? What did we ever do?"
Jace shook his head. "I don't know, Clary. But maybe-" The gleam in his eye turned a little devious. "Clary, if we feel the same way, why does it - does it matter?"
She gasped, staring. "You mean-?"
He lunged towards her, and she barely had time to process what was happening before their lips were smashed together. She groaned; this was wrong, so wrong, but she didn't care. It was Jace. How could this feeling be so wrong?
She leant back, tugging at his lip. Before either of them knew it, his shirt was off and her jacket discarded. "Clary," Jace murmured.
"I know it's mucked up. But I love you."
"What a beautiful curse." She couldn't help but give a small smile.
