Seeing Isn't Everything

Summary: I don't know what my mom was smoking when she decided it would be a good thing to take her blind daughter to a museum.

Yes, of all places, my mom (who is usually very smart, mind you) has decided to take me, a blind girl, to a museum. Thats a place where you're supposed to look at art, kind of troublesome for me..

Toph Bei-Fong growled as she stepped out of the family limo. Sending a glare to her mother she stopped her foot against the asphault, "Can I at least wait in the car?"

"No, thats way too dangerous, you need to stay with us where you're safe, little lady." her father told her turning around and grabbing her hand.

"I'm fourteen, not two! And I can take care of myself. Can I please just stay in the car? I can't see anything, anyways."

"Toph, listen to us, we know what is best for you. Besides, you can get a pair of head phones and listen to them about some artifacts."

She huffed and followed them inside. Her parents payed for their tickets and her mother handed her a pair of headphones. They trusted she could feel around for the little hole to stick the end in.

"We'll start looking for you in an hour, think you can handle some time by yourself?" he asked looking concerned.

"Yes, dad." she rolled her eyes, "I think I can manage without you two up my grill for sixty minutes." her mother and father didn't respond, she could tell she made them mad, though. Especially the way her mother's heels turned away from her as she walked away.

Toph sighed, it had taken her a good two minutes just to find the little hole, now she was listening to how the Mayans invented math. As if she would die tomorrow if she didn't learn this today. She yanked the headphones away from the stand and made her way towards another aisle.

She couldn't see the sign that clearly read 'Danger, Do Not Touch' she started feeling around for the hole and suddenly she felt a huge, cold, burst of air. It took her back and made her fall.

"Did somebody open a window?" she asked no-one as she sat up from the floor.

"Nope." answered an unfamiliar voice. It belonged to a boy.

Toph felt a hand in her's and felt herself being lifted from the floor. As she looked up, she didn't expect to actually see what a person would look like. Ever. But, she did...

Well, I don't think it was very good (or long) if you want me to continue, just tell me. If you don't, tell me that, too. But, either way, I'll do what I want so there is really no point. And, yes, I probably will be editing it. I just wanted to get it up. Anyways, tell me what ya think! And just in case the full summary won't fit, here it is;

Toph goes to the museum and accidently sets a boy free from a long lost artifact that he was sealed in. The weird thing is, she sees him. Even weirder, she's blind and no one else can see him. This boy truly is like air, air that only she can see.
