You know how every woman's dream is to meet her Prince Charming and ride a horse into the sunset.

I didn't exactly get that dream.

Instead I got a man who understood me and loved me for me and not some image in his head. I got a son that so reminds me of his father that I have to laugh.

I have a family that loves me, even though I am different.

I also ended up getting a sister that I used to be so close with. When I found out what I was, however, that part of the fairy tale was over.

As I watch my son, giggling as he flies on a toy broom, I realize that I didn't really care for the fairy tale. I was happy with real life.

As I watch my husband chase after him, I find that I wish it could last.

I watch my son as he looks at me through a mirror for the first time, and wish that I could be waiting at home for him.

A tear slides down my cheek as I smile at him. He still looks so much like James, it amazes me. I wonder what he would have looked like if it had been Sev instead of James, but I can't imagine it.

He looks at James, who is also looking a bit teary-eyed.

Suddenly Harry turns around, like a sound startled him, and jumps up, whispering hurriedly, "I'll come back tomorrow."

We watch as he disappears, still covered in unashamed tears.

Sirius has joined us, like James said he would, and he still manages to make me smile.

There's something odd about him though; an oldness that he never had.

It's like he would rather be on earth with us and Harry than with us without Harry.

I find myself pondering it.

We watch the war going on, trying not to feel too scared. We have to know who comes out the victor, in this, the final battle to ever come across Hogwarts.

I still trust Sev with Harry, even though the pain has come back on occasion.

As Peter joins us, James greets him as he did with Sirius, not caring for what Peter had done.

I listen to the timidness still present in his grown-up voice, brought on no doubt by the Dark Lord's service.

As I listen to his reasons, I can't help but wonder…

Remus joins us, and I can't help but feel glad in his presence.

Nymphadora has joined us too, making me smile with her childish antics.

As we start to wonder, we feel our presence needed down below. Not for selfish reasons, but for reassurance.

We go down to stay and to help as needed, but always to stay.

He looks at us, a tearful expression in his eyes, trying not to convey sadness.

I nod and smile, loving him more, even more than a normal mother would with her kids.

A/N: this just popped into my head, because I wondered what Lily's reaction would have been to the whole mess her son had gotten mixed up in.

Anyways, review and let me know what you think. I would really appreciate it.
