A/N: Takes place after Steve got tasered, but before the next scene where the whole team is there. Hope you enjoy!

The room was still spinning when he came to, but memory flooded with a slam as if he were laying out in the open ocean. He was on his feet and staggering to the back door, then wrenching it open and already his eyes were scanning for footprints in the sand. It must have been the color of that beach that made the voice whisper in his head, 'you moron.'

Steve sighed, but still his eyes continued to scan the horizon even as he actually stopped, to think. His first instinct was to start searching for the clues he knew must be here, there was no way they could have broken in, and stolen his property, without leaving something. Four months ago he knew he'd already be halfway down to the water to find those answers.

Yet could he, should he? Danny's voice flashed through his mind once more, 'the evidence you mook, let's try to preserve something huh?'

Only when he moved to run his hand through his hair in frustration at his own hesitation did he notice that his hand was shaking, and the other was leaning against the porch rail for support. He would never aloud admit that the literal shock of being tasered was still having side effects, maybe another set of eyes would come in handy.

Letting his eyes graze down the beach line one more time, he resolutely turned his back and made his way slowly back inside, and thoroughly denied how hard it seemed to be to put one foot above another just to make it back upstairs to his room. Sinking back onto his bed was a small blessing as he scooped up his phone and made the call.

The phone answered in three rings.

"Really Steven, at this time, on a Saturday?" his voice slurred, must be a no Grace weekend.

Steve sucked in a deep breath, then let it out slowly. Such a simple thing, a phone call, but he knew somewhere deep down that he couldn't do this on his own. This was the first person he knew to call for help. "Steve you still there?" Danny asked, a bit more alert this time.

"Yeah um," one more deep breath, he'd suffered through all sorts of endless torturing and training, but a phone call was getting the better of him! He blurted out, "Danny someone broke into my house, stole my Dad's champ box, and then tasered me."

There was silence on the other end for the barest of seconds before Danny's mouth was moving. He was going typical Danny, talking a mile an hour, even as Steve could hear in the background the sounds of him moving around. Some of what he said he actually did listen to, "be right over- did you get a hold of Chin or Kono- I'll make some calls?" Practically all at the same time.

"No!" He cut him off there, his mind finally spinning back on track, "no I haven't called anyone else, and don't tell anyone else. Except Chin and Kono, but no I haven't called them yet either."

Silence for another brief moment, then he could hear a car engine starting up and Danny's voice one last time, "alright, I'll tell them and no one else, just do what I said and I'll be right over." Then Danny hung up on him.

Steve gazed down at his phone for a moment and then smiled, he had no idea what Danny had told him to do, but he knew what he was going to do. He was going to wait for his team to get here, and then they were going to figure this whole thing out.

Yeah I know kind of old school now, but I was going back and rewatching the series and I just had to write this one down. Hope you enjoyed!
