Behind a plastic smile I hide
(Harry was telling Hermione that the Dursely were treating him OK)
Eyes shining with synthetic glow
(Harry sees Ginny coming to see him)
And all the times Ive ever lied
(Harry is telling the matriarch of the Weasley clan that he is fine)
I try not to let it show
(He looks out the window late out night afread that someone will see him
Everydays the same ole thing
(Harry just comes back from another verbal and occlumency lesson from Snape)
The same pattern repeating
(Harry reflects about the past five years and everything that has happened)
And every day the same old pain
(Harry just comes back from another detention from Umbridge)
That delivers my every beating
(Harry rubs his backhand when no one is looking)
As weeks turn into months
(Harry looks at the scars on his hands that have not had a chance to go away)
And months turn into years
(Hary has more scars now, not just from the Black Quill)
Nobody around me
(Harry is walking through the Forbidden Forest to Voldemort)
Can see through to my tears
(The Death Eaters just see a foolish boy on his way to their lord)
Waiting in my corner
(Harry has fear showing in the back of his eyes hiding be hind the invisible tears)
Looking for a way
(Harry had just had his talk with Dumbledore in the place that is and is not King Cross Train Station)
I'll hide behind my mask
(As he followed Voldemort he is thinking of the future)
Until that very day
(Voldemort has been dead for several days now, gone for ever)
A day when I no longer Ever have to hide
(He now smiles as he goes through Diagon Alley)
A day when I am stronger
(His Connection to the holly and elder wand has grown beyond imagination)
And I can put my mask aside
(He walks to the women he loves and her ever changing hair)
