The bell jingled with every step he took.

Every flowing, light step that he took was followed by a soft ring of the tiny bell hanging on a thin chain from his ankle.

No matter how softly he attempted to walk, the bell sang its tiny tune. He couldn't get a single step without anyone listening finding out.

Which was exactly what Arthur Kirkland's intention was. He closed his eyes and listened to the little rings that sounded from the hallways. It was approaching, its sound slow and rhythmic. The sound stopped, and Arthur closed his book, turning on his chair to face the door.

The door slowly opened, and with a tiny clink, Kiku made his way inside with a plate of cookies and tea.

"I've brought tea!" Kiku exclaimed, smiling, as he offered the tray to Arthur, walking into the room. The little bell on his ankle sang happily. Kiku set the tray on Arthur's desk he was sitting behind, still smiling. He reached out to take the teapot to pour the tea into the teacups when he felt Arthur's hand lightly pushing it off.

"Come over here," he cooed, smiling, taking his hand from across the desk and pulling him around it. Kiku trotted around the desk to Arthur with a confused expression, the bell at his ankle jingling. Once Kiku was in front of him, Arthur reached forward to grab him by his arms and pull him onto his lap.

Kiku blushed, beginning to fidget on his lap, playing with the sleeves of his kimono, looking down at it.

"I see you're being a good boy and haven't taken it off," Arthur chuckled, moving one of his legs slightly to elicit a small tinkle.

"W-w-well…it was a gift…from you…so…." Kiku answered, blushing from ear to ear, eyes closed shut in embarrassment. "Though… I wish it wouldn't be so loud…"

"But it shows you're mine," Arthur kissed Kiku's exposed neck gently. "Now the whole world will know."

He smiled at Kiku's horror struck expression of confusion and embarrassment, and lightly kissed his lips. "You're mine, you know."

Kiku blushed.
