Best Friends
She watched over many but appeared only to Hunith.
They met four years after the former's death, and the lady quickly grew fond of Hunith, discouraging the use of titles. Titles didn't mean anything anymore, and the woman needed companionship, not another servant. The two met nightly to discuss anything, especially their sons.
When Merlin departed for Camelot, Hunith didn't need to ask twice for her dear friend to watch the warlock. Both women were pleasantly surprised when Merlin began working for Prince Arthur, and Igraine and Hunith hoped that the boys' friendship would transcend class, just as theirs did.
A/N: Hey, guys, distressedclover here! Um, this is my first time writing anything for the amazing show known as Merlin as well as my first time writing a drabble, so hopefully, I did both the show and the format justice. I'd like to continue writing stories for Merlin and trying drabbles, so with any luck, this collection should help me do just that. I don't know how many drabbles I'll have or how often I'll upload them, but I have a list of random-word-generator-generated prompts around here somewhere...
I've had this one written for a while, but seeing as it's Mother's Day, I figured it was about time I uploaded it. I still don't know why this idea popped into my head, but it just kind of... clicked, somehow. I'm not overly pleased with the end result due to my inexperience in working with word limits, but it made my friend cry (much to my surprise), so there must be some hope for it.
If you get the chance, please review and tell me what you thought about this, how I can improve, etc. I'd really appreciate it.
I'll stop blathering on now...
