kind of AU. my attempt at writting Gippal/Rikku. lemme know what you guys think!
Sighing she brought up the commesphere network again. Quickly she clicked to the link in Djose temple. Still offline. Stupid people. If they hadn't ripped the Commesphere apart at least she would know she had a chance to talk to him. Waiting a few minutes she tried again still getting no connection. Sighing in frustration she got up and moved away from Shinra's spot and up the stairs. She couldn't sleep now that everything was peaceful. She had so much energy to waste and nothing to waste it on. Suddenly a beep came from where she was just sitting. Running back in her slippers and PJs she sat back down and looked at her favourite spot again. Connected. Someone had fixed it. This was it. Did she really want it? Yes. Even if it was just to make fun of him she needed to see him again. Pushing connect she came face to face with the one person she was hoping for.
"Gippal" she said as he appeared to still be fixing the commesphere.
"Hey, what are you doing up so late?" he asked not even bothering to look at her as he continued working.
"Couldn't sleep, too much energy. Hey! You fixed the commesphere!" she said smiling at him. She was proud of him and she couldn't help it.
"Yeah I found one while we were chasing after Baralai then found this one destroyed so I figured I'd try it. Guess I'm a genius huh?" he said glancing at her with a smile. Her smile. The one he saved for her. Just for her.
"Ha you wish. We know you found the one in that hole! We saw you and Nooj" this caused him to stop and looked at her with wide eyes. Almost as if he was afraid.
"Oh? What did you hear?" he stopped fixing whatever he was fixing and looked straight at her making her feel awkward under the gaze.
"Nothing just you being a genius and Nooj saying something about Leblanc and it cut off…why?" she asked curiously as he gave a sigh of relief and went back to whatever he was doing.
"No reason. Go to sleep. It's late" and with that the connection died before she could question further.
"…weirdo" and with that she smiled at the screen and went to bed. For the first time in a while she fell asleep peacefully.
