Summary: A short drabble set during "Window of Opportunity".
General George Hammond's mouth hung open in shock. The leader of the SGC's flagship team was passionately kissing the 2IC of said team. Right of him. Right in front of everyone in the gateroom.
His first thought regarding the situation drifted in a couple of seconds later. "What the hell!" He thought he had seen damn near everything in his years in the Air Force.
"It's about damn time!" was the second thought that pushed through his shock. Colonel O'Neill and Major Carter had enough unresolved sexual tension between them to power the stargate for a year.
There was a concern about regulations that the practical side of him was trying to form a sentence around. But judging from the resignation papers O'Neill had just handed him, regulations were being shoved out of the way. However, he could think of another side to the practical angle. There were at least ten betting pools on base that had to do with the display in front of him. If he wasn't mistaken, he had just won some of the pools. Well, if he'd been a betting man and knew about pools like those.
Most of his brain told the practical side of him to shut up and enjoy the show. So he did. It had been a long time in coming.
And, after all, who was he to argue with himself?
