"Edward, stop!"
"No!"
"Ed, please!"
"No!"
Ed ran as fast as he could away from Colonel Roy Mustang's office. Roy was chasing after him, but Ed didn't want to be caught. Not after what he had just witnessed.
Not paying attention to where he was going he stopped in a deserted courtyard, next to a stone fountain. Ed knelt down in front of the fountain, his head resting on his arms, staring into the water, catching his breath.
Hearing footsteps coming he got up to run again, but a hand caught his wrist.
"Ed, please listen to me." Roy pleaded.
"No!" Ed struggled to free his arm.
"It's not what you think!" Roy grabbed his other wrist and brought Ed around to face him.
"I know what I saw, you don't need to explain." Ed hung his head, all his anger melting away
into sadness.
"It's not what you think, I promise." The flame alchemist's tone softened, still pleading with the young blond.
"Oh, so I didn't just see you kissing Hawkeye?" Ed's tone was mocking. Roy shifted
"Well you did, but. . ." He was cut off when Ed began to struggle again, desperately trying to free himself from the older man's grasp.
"She kissed me!" He yelled.
"How do you expect me to believe that?" Ed stopped moving again and looked Roy square in the eye.
"Well?" He pushed.
"You're supposed to believe me, I would never lie to you. You know that."
Roy's grip on his wrists loosened. Ed hung his head, the last thing he needed was for Roy to see how hurt he was.
"You didn't look like you were opposed to it." Ed whispered. Roy stared at the blonde before sighing. He took Ed's left hand in his and interlaced their fingers.
"Come on, we can't talk about this here, someone could find out." Roy said softly. He pulled Ed by the hand until they were in the safety of Ed's dorm room. Roy sat down on the sofa and pulled Ed into his lap. The blonde closed his eyes and leaned into Roy's chest, the flame alchemist wrapped his arms around the boy and nuzzled the top of his head.
"I'm sorry about what you saw, but ask Hawkeye and she will tell you the same thing. I would never cheat on you. I love you too much." He pulled Ed's head up and gave him a soft, slow kiss. Ed melted into the kiss and wrapped his arms around Roy's neck. Eventually they were forced to part for air.
"I know, I was just mad. I love you too." He whispered. Roy smiled at him and held the younger boy as close to him as possible.
A few hours later a human Al walked in and found his brother and the Colonel on the couch, asleep in each other's arms. He smiled and left the room.
