Here's just a small idea I got on the 14th of January 1003 when I got bored during the holidays. Around the time The Two Towers was in cinemas.

New ending for The Return of the King (it isn't what happened in the book but the movie is so different already why not go all the way?)

SCENE: Funeral of King Aragorn.

(Legolas approaches the weeping Arwen and speaks some words of comfort. After a minute or so, the two walk away together into the forest.)

SCENE CHANGE: Legolas and Arwen standing in a forest clearing. They stand very close opposite each other, clasping hands.)

ALL FOLLOWING LINES IN ELVISH WITH SUBTITLES

ARWEN: Legolas, I didn't realise how much you cared about me.

LEGOLAS: Arwen, I have always loved from afar. I did not say anything because I knew you loved Aragorn.

ARWEN: I am sure I would have loved you then if I had never met him. But I still love him.

LEGOLAS: (voice becoming shaky and more romantic) Bear away you love for him to sail away with me to the Undying Lands where it will be evergreen.

ARWEN: What about Aragorn?

LEGOLAS: He would have wanted you to continue to live in happiness with someone you love. (Tilts head closer.)

ARWEN: (Tilting head upwards.) Oh Legolas...

(They kiss.)

Anyway, I know it's corny and over the top and unrealistic and has no quality and everything else, but I just felt like sharing it. It wasn't even in my fan-fiction folder, but my personal diary. I was digging around and found it. Reviews are welcome, but I don't need to be told it's weaknesses. Just tell me if you found it entertaining at all.
