Lucy Van Pelt

"You don't believe me do you?!" Lucy's whining voice shrills, filling the room like an angry bird as she turns to look at her one-and-only true love, Schroeder. He tries his best to ignore the nuisance which seems to be permanently tacked onto his piano, but his will is overcome by her glaring brown eyes. As soon as Lucy sees she has forced his attention back to where she wants it, she continues in a squawking voice, flipping her black hair: "Well, it's a scientific fact that girls are smarter than boys!"

This catches Schroeder off guard and he laughs at what he considers to be the absurdity of her statement. Lucy hears this, gets right into his face and says: "And do you know who discovered it?" Shaking his head, he starts to move backwards away from the pale girl in the blue dress, but there is no need. Just then, she stands up straight with her finger in the air, and hollers: "Women Scientists!"

"Oh, good grief!" Schroeder mutters to himself, rolling his eyes at the agony of being around her for too long. Then, pushing himself off the floor, he creeps out the door to try and revive his Lucy-fried brain.

Lucy sighs and sits down next to the newly-vacated piano. Her arms held up in triumph, she puffs up her feathers and she announces to the empty room: "He loves me!" Then, uttering another sigh, Lucy reclines on the instrument, determined to wait for her crush to return . . . so that she may ask him for a kiss.
