Chapter 1:

I didn't want this. I didn't want any of it. Then again, I didn't want to end up the nanny of the four Ross kids either. Maybe all those days of living with Bertrum actually weren't so bad after all.

I stood at the edge of a skyscraper in New York wearing a pink and purple suit. My fingers clutched the edge of the building and I hoped to god I wouldn't slip. My whole limbs trembled and I cursed for not being the one to be given some sort of flying ability. My red hair was waving in the wind temporarily blinding me every now and then. However, I could just see Tony dangling over the next building's ledge.

"Tony!" I screamed. "Tony don't move!"

His hotel suit rustled in the wind and he screamed back, "Do I have much of a choice? Why on Earth would I let go?"

I had to agree with him. If I was in his situation, which I was very close to being in, I wouldn't move either. "Just stay calm!"

Tony was in hysterics. "STAY CALM! I AM DANGLING OVER A BUILDING FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!"

I shrugged. I would trade getting Luke to do his homework with dangling over a building any day. Well, at least the NEW me would. I tried to focus my mind on saving Tony from hurling down to the ground.

I grabbed the ledge of a window sill and propelled myself to the next building. My hands scrambled to find the ledge and I almost missed it. With a nervous glance at the ground, stories below, I kept going. My hands felt for gaps and cracks in the building. Passers-by were starting to gather beneath the hotel and gap in disbelief at the sight of me struggling to scale to Tony.

I thought my hand was secure, but it slightly slipped. The action was too quick for me to scream and my eyes flashed with fear. I could feel my body hurtling through the air and hear the screams of people below. Before I could realize what had happened, a pair of hands grabbed my shoulders.

I looked around to meet Emma's face. "Always getting into trouble, Jessie?" she said, "If it weren't for you trying to save the world, I could have been shopping at the mall right now!" I noticed that her face was dazzled with eye shadow and realized that she had been interrupted from applying her makeup. "I'll just set you down and get Tony."

I heaved a sigh of gratefulness. At least, one of us could fly. Emma sat me down on another building and went over to Tony. I thought it was fine when Emma was only 5ft away from him, however, perhaps I had assumed too soon because the next second Tony's grip loosened and he slipped off the ledge. His gorgeous blue eyes flashed at me as it happened and they said only one thing. Help.
