disclaimer: I don't own The Spiderwick Chronicles

Whee! I'm starting to really get into this series... So I decided to write drabbles! Here's the first one..starring...

JARED GRACE!

All his life, Jared Grace always heard stories of fairies. Of course, he thought that they never exsisted. Yet he was wrong.

It all changed when that one day when he and his family moved into his Aunt Lucinda's estate. The noises in the walls...finding Thimbletack, the house brownie...and finding the Field Guide that was made by his great-great uncle, Arthur Spiderwick. When he and his twin, Simon, and his older sister, Mallory discovered the Invisible World and got The Sight, it all changed.

It had been about five months since they ridded of Mulgarath. Jared still had the Guide. They still had to protect it from those who want to destroy it. Even though the fairies that wanted it weren't as menacing as Mulgarath, Jared still had a wierd feeling.

Or, you could say, he felt lost.

When he'd walk with the Guide in his backpack, he always lost sense of direction. At first, it was just that they found out that a bunch of Stray Sods had made their homes around the estate. And the more Stray Sods the more confusion you recieve. So Jared would usually turn his clothes inside out or put a piece of bread in his pocket. After a while though, it stopped working. He found out that it wasn't Stray Sods.

The problem was, Jared didn't know what it was. He didn't know why he always felt compeltly lost with the Guide by his side. Simon had suggested that Jared was probaly just still getting used to taking the Guide everywhere with him. Mallory of course objected to that, for she stated that Jared had taken the Guide everywhere with him for a long period of time now. Jared decided to just ignore his fighting siblings. He couldn't find Thimbletack anywhere to ask him; the brownie was probaly doing some type of chore around the house. Jared didn't even bother going to talk to the elves. He didn't really want to talk to the Green-Eyed elf.

As he did with his siblings, he chose to ignore it. Which was very close to impossible.

But, finally in the end, he decided...

...to just blame the Stray Sods.

...that sucked... I'm not proud of this ... -.- I'll just be happy if someone comments...
