'James, what in Merlin's name are you doing?'

'I'm just... Admiring'

'Yes, I can see that! Will you stop looking at her like that, please? I think you're upsetting her.'

'Relax Sirius, I'm not upsetting anyone. She can't get upset because I find her absolutely gorgeous.'

'News for you, mate, she CAN. You're staring at her! I'm not joking, if I were her I would've left

the common room a long time ago. I don't know how she's still here.'

'You want to know why she's still here? Because she likes it, of course! Otherwise she would have left already.'

'Maybe she's trying to defy you.'

Remus had been silent until now, just listening to James and Sirius arguing. Neither James nor Sirius seemed to have understood what he had just said.

'James, have you ever thought of the option she might not like you?'

'Please Remus, why wouldn't she like me? What is it to not like about me?' Remus laughed.

'I have to say James, for your own good, that not everyone will like you in your life.'

'Thanks for the warning Remus, I feel much better now.' James didn't look very happy about what

his friend had just told him, but inside he knew it was true.

'She's not your biggest fan, by the way.'

'Excuse me?'

'Lily. I talked to her the other day. She's a very nice person, you know. But she really doesn't seem to like you. She told me that, in her opinion, you're just snob.' James seemed even more irritated about the calm way Remus had told him that.

'Why would she think that way about me? It's not like she ever talked to me or anything. After all, every time I try to talk to her, she walks away! Well, I'll show her how wrong she is.' James didn't even answer Remus, just stood up and ran to his bedroom. He didn't have a plan, he decided to just act normally in front of her. But when he thought about it... Normal for her was snob right? So he would have to change something. Then he thought even more. He was not to change because of a stupid girl, right? Of course not. Lily Evans meant absolutely nothing to him. If she didn't like him, it was her problem, and he didn't care.

He went downstairs again, to announce his decision, but he only found Peter sitting in the sofa of the common room. He just sat by his side.

'Why are you so bothered about that girl James?'

'I don't know Peter. But did you even listen to what Remus told me, just now? He said not everyone will like me in my life.'

'I will always like you, James.'

'Thank you, Peter.' To tell the truth, that didn't help. James started to wonder about what Sirius usually said about Peter, that he only followed them around, and agreed to everything they said. Maybe it was true. But he was fine with that, after all, it is never a bad thing to have someone to agree with you, right?
