Bound together in Eternity

I walk the same path to the same Village. Am I awake or Asleep?

The snow flutters down and covers a manor similar to the one I lost you in. I walk up the stairs and slide the door open, tears unbidden slid down my eyes as I enter the Osaka house once again.

Memories long past when we promised to stay together forever.

Yes, we are together, my hand reaches to the mark left by the forsaken ritual, the Crimson Sacrifice. I look up to see you standing there, you turn and run.

"Mayu" I cry out as I run after you again, "Please don't leave me" the tears flow stronger now, I stumble, the dust and dirt collects on my tears. You still ran faster than me and yet you are the one who had hurt your knee, all because of me.

The memory flooded back in a wave.

"Mio, please don't leave me" you cried out as I laugh as we ran along the same path I took to get here. "Mio…agggh" I heard you yell as you slipped over the edge of the hill.

"Mayu" I say as I look over the edge, "Mayu" I cry a little louder and saw your crumpled body on the floor "I'm sorry" I say as I ran to your side and then proceed to get help.

I get up and look at my knee; I scrape the skin off it and felt a dull throbbing in it. It didn't hurt as much as my regret for what had happened to you.

I left the place of past sorrows and enter a place I have never been. Someone called out to me; I look at the man, my Uncle. I turn and return to the way I came.

"Mayu" I mutter as I open the door and shut it behind me. I have once again return to the place of my torment, the place where the Crimson Butterflies played. I look up and see you, or was it my imagination.

I still remember the day I lost you. I walk to the cell and sat in the place where you sat once before. Another memory came back of you sitting here and of me killing you.

My hands being pulled to your throat, your whispered desire.

"Kill me"

I felt the tears, the sadness and the sense of dread. My hands started to squeeze, I felt your breath quicken then lessen until it deceased completely. They pull me off you, they took your body and threw you in.

Fear, sadness and guilt came I look around, wishing it wasn't real.

"Thank you"

I hear your butterfly, and then all my emotions came out in one word.

"Mayu"

I chase your butterfly, apologizing, wishing you never leave me, bound together in eternity but the quilt of your death.

Uncle Kei stands near the door, he wants to help me, but I don't want to be saved. I want to be with you, even if I remain here forever.

I just don't want to be alone in a world without you, Mayu.
